Customer Terms of Use

Last updated: April 2025

1. Who you are buying from

When you purchase products through a Shedful-powered store, you are buying directly from an independent seller ("baker") — not from Shedful. Shedful is a technology platform that provides tools for sellers to run their stalls. Shedful is not a party to the sale.

Each store is run by an independent individual or business. The baker's name and shed name are displayed on their store page.

2. Payment processing

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Shedful does not store your card details. When you complete a purchase, your payment goes directly to the baker's Stripe account, minus a small processing fee.

Your card statement will show the baker's name or a reference to Shedful/Stripe depending on your bank.

3. Products — food and allergens

Products sold through Shedful stores are typically homemade food items. Important:

  • Ingredients and allergen information are provided by the baker and are their responsibility. Always check product descriptions carefully.
  • If you have a food allergy or intolerance, contact the baker directly before purchasing using the messaging feature on the store page.
  • Shedful does not verify, inspect, or guarantee the quality, safety, or accuracy of product descriptions.

By purchasing food products through a Shedful store, you acknowledge these limitations and agree not to hold Shedful liable for any issues relating to product quality, allergens, or safety.

4. Order confirmation and fulfilment

On completing payment you will receive a confirmation. As these are unattended stalls, products are collected in person at the shed. The baker is responsible for ensuring products are available.

If a product is listed as available but is not present at the shed, please contact the baker directly using the messaging feature on the store page.

5. Refunds and disputes

Refunds and disputes are handled directly between you and the baker. Shedful is not a party to the sale and does not mediate or process refunds on the baker's behalf.

Each baker sets their own refund policy, which is displayed on their store page. To raise a refund request or dispute, use the messaging feature on the store page to contact the baker.

If you paid by card and cannot resolve your dispute with the baker, you may be able to raise a chargeback with your card provider. This is your right under UK banking regulations.

6. Your data

When you make a purchase, your payment details are handled by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy. Shedful stores limited transaction data (amount, items, date) to support the baker's sales records. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.

Shedful does not sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Limitation of Shedful's liability

Shedful provides a technology platform only. We are not responsible for:

  • The quality, safety, or fitness for purpose of products sold by bakers.
  • Losses arising from a baker's failure to fulfil an order.
  • Allergen-related incidents where the baker's product information was inaccurate or incomplete.
  • The outcome of refund requests or disputes between customers and bakers.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
